Music for Milestones—the Stepping Stone 2.0
In partnership with theMix Academy in Santa Ana and the Dragon Kim Foundation Music Program, we hosted an appointment-based, live, recorded recital, in which the kids that have been a part of our 6-week program showcased their newly-learned piano skills!

We are thrilled at this opportunity to congratulate these children on embarking on their endeavor to creating their own symbiotic relationship between music and the mind!

Music for Milestones Virtual Camp #2 w/ theMix Academy!
August 26th - September 30th, Wednesdays, 7:00pm - 8:00pm

This 6-week workshop was run in partnership with theMix Academy in Santa Ana (Learn more about this organization here).

In this program, we have had the opportunity to teach 30 students, ranging from 5 to 58 years of age, the piano, along with sessions focused on the instrument's impact on wellness, all via Zoom. This includes activities of guided listening through drawing, writing, and coloring, along with guest performances and Q & A's, emphasizing this multi-faceted music education with a focus on music as a means to overcome adversity.
Guest Spotlight!
OCSA seniors and AMAZING pianists Hannah Noh and Sean Antongiorgi, performed advanced pieces at the piano and engaged in a lively Q&A with Music for Milestones students. Students learned a great deal about the emotional journey that accompanies learning an instrument like the piano.

Music for Milestones—Diverse Perspectives on Music and Wellness
Monday, August 17th to Saturday, August 22nd, 5:00pm - 6:00pm

The first half of the class consisted of a guest performance/activity, with appearances by Emmy-nominated composers, educators, music majors, and even high school musicians! The second half of the program consisted of games like Rhythmic Simon Says, and even those that focus on basic music notation, through things like the "Cup Song" from Pitch Perfect!

Guest Spotlight!
2018 Emmy-Nominated composer Cindy O’Connor played rough cuts/scenes of her music from the ABC hit TV series, Once Upon a Time, with various styles of scores to explain storytelling with music! How did she make music "scarier", "funnier", or "more sad? These kids learned that music can evoke a variety of emotions, having a huge effect on our mental well-being!
